Activity target
Activity Target for Weight Loss
Use weekly aerobic activity and strength targets alongside walking and diet rather than relying on step count alone.
How the integrated planner sets the target
If you currently report less than 150 moderate-equivalent minutes/week, the planner sets 150 as the first guideline target. If you already meet 150 but are below 300, it suggests building toward 300 minutes/week for additional health benefits. If you already report 300 or more, it does not automatically reduce your routine.
Walking can count—but step count is not the same as intensity
Brisk walking can contribute to moderate-intensity activity, while casual steps may not. Strength training also cannot be inferred from a step count. That is why the planner reports walking and weekly activity separately.
Adults 65 and older also receive a reminder to include balance activities.
