Diet target
Calorie Target for Weight Loss
Estimate an initial daily calorie target from resting energy, overall activity, and a modest chosen weight-loss pace.
Why the planner asks for age, sex, height, and weight
Those variables are used by the resting-energy equation. Overall activity level is then used to estimate maintenance calories. Because this is an estimate rather than measured metabolism, the result should be treated as a starting point.
Why you choose the pace
The planner offers 0.25 or 0.5 kg/week. The selected pace determines the planning timeline and the initial calorie deficit. It does not claim that eating exactly the displayed calories will make the scale follow a straight line.
Safety boundaries
The planner does not create a weight-loss plan if the current or target BMI screening value is below 18.5, or if the simple calorie estimate would fall below 1,000 kcal/day. It is intended for adults age 18–79 and not for pregnancy, breastfeeding, eating-disorder treatment, or individualized medical care.
